During this expedition de Onkruidenier will take you along special grasses of Spangen. While strolling along lawns, meadows, building sites or between the paving stones we will look for grass species such as hairy love grass, wall barley or crabgrass. These are just a few of the grasses that have become the focus of the collective's research.

During the expedition we will create a new ecosystem of stories based on our discoveries. How do the grasses of Spangen relate to crops such as grain? And how does that relate to the current grain shortage? The Onkruidenier is curious about what grasses can tell us about our global food system, news reports about the grain supply in Ukraine, the stock market or overseas trade via containers in the port of Rotterdam. We zoom in on Spangen and zoom out again by looking at the different values that grasses represent.
